Global Research and Investments is a research and trading firm, formed in 1994 by the partnership of Vitcom, Inc. and Helms Commodities. The combined computer trading systems of Vitcom with the publication skills and interpretive technical analysis of Helms Commodities offers quick reference trading tools for professionals in the futures markets world wide.
The Company Aim
The aim of Global Research & Investments is the development and distribution of proprietary research materials for industry professionals in the world commodity markets. GRI reports are focused to be the side kick technical tool traders use to identify critical parameters making an impact on risk management and trading strategies.
John L. Vitale II, the founder and president of Vitcom, Inc., graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1973, at which time he joined Heinold Commodities in Chicago as a registered futures broker. From 1977 until 1982 he was chief technical analyst for the company and trading advisor to that firm’s management.
In 1982 he left Heinold to form Vitcom, Inc., a research and trading firm. From 1983 until the present he has studied and developed several proprietary computerized analysis and trading systems, and is expert on technical trading models. Vitcom, Inc. provides research to professional traders in futures markets world wide.
In 1994 Mr. Vitale joined with John Helms, of Helms Commodities, to form Global Research and Investments, publishing technical analysis research for commodity markets.
John C. Helms, the founder of Helms Commodities, graduated from the University of Illinois in 1979, at which time he joined Heinold Commodities in Chicago, working for the Heinold Research Department. From 1979 until 1982 he joined Mr. Vitale as a supporting technical analyst and from 1982 to 1985 stepped into the roll of trading advisor to the firm’s research team.
In 1985 he left Heinold to form Helms Commodities, a technical analysis publication firm. From 1985 to present he has developed the Daily Technical Overview publication into a respected research product with world wide circulation and utilized by many leading commodity firms.
In 1994 Mr. Helms joined with John Vitale, of Vitcom, to form Global Research and Investments.
Roger Smith-Jones, the founder of RSJ Computer Services, graduated from the DePaul University in 1970, at which time he served in the Army until 1972. From 1972 to 1980 he joined Velsicol Chemical Corp as a chemist.
Since 1980, Mr Smith-Jones founded RSJ Computer Services, providing computer technical expertise and consulting services to a variety of companies. From 1987 to present Mr. Smith-Jones is a director of computer services for a pension fund services company. From 1994 to present he has consulted for Global Research & Investments, providing computer technical expertise, combined with knowledge of commodity markets, that have enabled many of the proprietary trading indicators and systems used by GRI for interpretation of commodity markets.
